Military “Challenge Coins” are a tradition dating back to at least the Vietnam War, and some accounts even say back to World War One. While the origin stories vary, by the 1980’s it became a standard custom for military organizations to have distinctive coins representing their unit’s history and mission. From coins given out by Commanders in recognition of exemplary service to the process of actively determining the lucky service member who’ll be buying drinks tonight :-), we at JTF Sports we strive to keep these traditions going and are proud to introduce our new special edition coin into the mix!
